East Georgia State College (EGSC) will host Convocation Tuesday, August 22. The event will be held at 2 p.m. on the Swainsboro campus in the auditorium of the Luck Gambrell Building. A group photo will be taken at the beginning of the event followed by alumni speaker Rebecca Mason.

Convocation is held each year to celebrate the start of the new academic year and to welcome new students and new and returning faculty to campus. New EGSC students are encouraged to attend the event and returning students are also welcomed to attend.

Everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear EGSC colors or the t-shirt they were given at new student orientation for a group photo that will be taken at 2 p.m. before the start of the program. During the event EGSC alumnus Rebecca Mason will speak to the students, and new students will receive their first EGSC pin. An ice cream social will be held at the end of the event.

Rebecca Mason graduated from EGSC with her associate degree in 2019 and from Georgia Southern University in 2021 with her bachelor's in business administration majoring in marketing with a focus in sales and a minor in psychology. Mason currently works for the Mike Hostilo Law firm. During her time at EGSC, she was heavily involved on campus as the president of the Student Government Association, a Correll Scholar, and CHOICE Program peer mentor.

EGSC encourages new and returning students, faculty and staff to attend the event and kick off the beginning of the Fall semester!
