The University System of Georgia’s African - American Male Initiative was initiated in fall 2002. East Georgia State College is committed to the goals of that initiative and intends to significantly improve the academic success rate of the colleges African - American males. In order to further this goal, a team of EGSC students, faculty and staff attended the 2012 USG African - American Male Initiative Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition, a special task force reporting to the President of EGSC has been created. That task force will design a plan designed to achieve the above goals, which is uniquely suited to the history
and needs of EGSC.
