Description

East Georgia State College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Coffee Shop Clerk/Barista. This position will be responsible for all functions of operation in the coffee shop. This will include but is not limited to: opening and closing the shop; preparing beverage and food items; operating a point-of-sale system and accepting payment and returning accurate change; maintaining inventory of supplies; cleaning food preparation equipment; and provide fast, courteous, professional customer service. Candidate must be able to multi-task and remain professional while under pressure.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Experience in food/beverage preparation and service is required; barista experience is preferred. Must have the ability to count money, make correct change, and maintain a balanced cash drawer. The successful candidate should possess excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; along with the ability to work in a team atmosphere, be self-motivated with strong customer service skills in a rapid paced work environment. Candidate must have the ability to operate preparation equipment, including, but not limited to: coffee grinder, coffee maker, espresso maker, milk frother, smoothie maker, microwave, and toaster oven.  Candidate must possess knowledge of food safety and handling practices.

Salary and Benefits: This is a part-time non-benefited position and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Part-Time Clerk (Statesboro)

Description

Under general supervision, the part-time clerk will assist the receptionist. This position will be required to work in the busy reception area of East Georgia State College - Statesboro. After training, the part-time clerk will work within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures, assisting faculty and staff with administrative responsibilities. This position will provide general information about East Georgia State College - Statesboro, admissions, records, and financial aid, to current and prospective students. This position has the responsibility to carry out duties in a manner which enhances the learning environment and communicates that message to students each working day.

Qualifications

Tutor (Statesboro)

Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Under general supervision, tutors assist students in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at the EGSC Statesboro, located in Statesboro, GA. Tutors provide assistance to students seeking additional instruction in academic courses; primarily math, reading, and English, though assistance in other subjects may need to be provided occasionally. Tutor assistance may include, but is not limited to, the following:  reviewing class material, working on solutions to problems, formulating and expanding on ideas for papers, providing assistance and guidance on software programs such as MyMathLab, creating and working practice test questions, discussing textbook readings, etc. Interaction with professors for clarification on desired learning outcomes or material to be covered may be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:  The candidate must have a high school diploma and some post-secondary education, with a minimum of one year of successful college-level credit. One year of related work experience is preferred. The candidate must be proficient with computers, must possess effective verbal and written communications skills; must be able to work with diverse populations in a fast-paced and busy environment. Administrative Assistant Student Life

Description

East Georgia State College, an associate and limited baccalaureate degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time, benefited position. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: This integral customer service staff position will serve as an information resource and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Student Services Complex Information Desk (including monitoring of the Rec Room and associated equipment and supplies); will also assist with student organization activities and recordkeeping. Duties include: receptionist/phone responsibilities, calendar coordination for the student center; maintenance of college information and student activities via webpage, e-mails, brochures, bulletin boards, etc. This position reports to the Director of Student Life.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED, minimum of 2 years administrative/clerical experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Two years of college credit is preferred and work experience in a college/university setting is preferred. Successful candidate must possess very strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Web Services Specialist

Description

East Georgia State College wishes to announce we are receiving applications for the position of Web Services Specialist.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
Position will be responsible for the management of the college’s web site to ensure timely, relevant and current content of the web site in order to advance the academic / marketing strategies and goals of the college.  Work with and train department representatives for departmental web page development and management. Utilize Expression Engine web content management software for managing college web site.  Assist Marketing and External Affairs staff members with relevant tasks.

Qualifications

Education requirements:
Minimum:  Associate's degree in information technology, graphic design, computer science, communications, marketing / journalism or related degree. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience / knowledge:
Minimum requirements:  One year of experience in creating quality design and content for the web.  Applicant must provide a portfolio and/or site references demonstrating web development work.  Strong working knowledge of the following: Expression Engine web content management software; Adobe applications - Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, ActionScript; Google Analytics / Apps.  Experience editing / developing HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET;   Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari browser applications.  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Apple and Windows Operating Systems. Preferred requirements: In addition to items listed in minimum requirements; two years experience in web page design / web development; experience with web content management systems.  Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.  Work experience in the higher education sector. 

Skills and abilities: 
Strong oral and written communication skills are required as well as strong grammatical and editing skills. Excellent ability to write, speak and use images to clearly and persuasively communicate in technical and non-technical subjects with both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong attention to detail skills. Applicant must possess strong initiative and self-starting approach, and ability to operate effectively in an environment of rapid change and be able to work well under deadlines. Due to the nature of this position, the candidate will need to be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks accordingly.

Description

East Georgia State College – Swainsboro is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Cook. The candidate must be able to prepare high quality foods in large quantities to meet the guests expectations. Organization and attention to detail, the ability to follow recipes and presentation guidelines is a must in preparing quality foods. Ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards must be maintained at all times. This will include maintaining temperature control procedures and Facility policies.
