Summer Jump Start Academy

Summer Jump Start Academy

Summer Jump Start Academy is a summer program designed to provide students who are provisionally accepted for summer as well as those regularly admitted for Jump Start additional assistance to be the most successful student they can be. The program is only available at the Swainsboro campus and is an excellent way to "jump start" your college studies, meet faculty, learn how to manage the independence of college life, live in on-campus apartments, and most importantly, make new friends and connect to EGSC.

Students who are provisionally accepted and pass all summer courses and earn a “C” average or better (2.0 GPA) in those courses can be regularly admitted for the Fall 2013 semester.

What is Included in the Program?

  • $20 Application Fee waived for applicants
  • 12 available Housing spots guaranteed for Fall upon successful completion of program
  • Jump Start-specific Student Success course
  • Learning Communities in English and Math
  • Additional tutoring assistance out of the ACE (Academic Center for Excellence)
  • Assignment of faculty mentor

Who is Eligible?

Any student is eligible to participate in the Jump Start Program. We encourage students who either scored below the minimum Compass placement score requirement or were placed in all three areas of Learning Support to apply. The Jump Start program includes required tutoring as well as participation in Learning Communities to improve student success.

Reserve your Spot
