Beginning his fourth season as head men’s basketball coach at EGSC,Coach Bailey has led his new program to a 38-37 record, establishing the Bobcats as a force to be reckoned with in the GCAA . He has a 195-103 overall record in 12 years as a head coach at EGSC, Middlesex High School and Oak Hill Academy. He has worked with numerous professional and collegiate players helping to develop talent while nurturing a love and appreciation for the game. He has been a respected staff member at the prestigious 5-Star basketball camps and is recognized nationally as an expert in individual skill development. He was a national finalist in 2008 for the Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach of the Year Award, which recognizes coaches who promote positive values through sports.
During his time as Athletic Director at East Georgia State College, Bailey has helped to build a strong athletic program from the ground up, a challenge that he relishes. Starting without so much as a ball or uniform, in less than three years the athletic program is respected throughout the state, not just for how quickly it has become competitive, but also for the integrity that we have exhibited during the difficult period of initial growth. Last season three of our four sports finished with winning records and all four qualified for their respective state tournaments bringing positive recognition to our small college as well as provided a positive educational opportunity for our student athletes.
