East Georgia State College wants to be your pathway to higher education in Statesboro!
Since 1997, more than 9,300 students have attended East Georgia State College-Statesboro (EGSC-S). The EGSC-S initiative was designed to give qualified students from Appling, Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Evans, Montgomery, Screven, Tattnall, and Toombs counties the opportunity to attend East Georgia State College-Statesboro without being referred by Georgia Southern University.
At EGSC-S, students enjoy personalized instruction, in smaller classes, with teachers who are committed to the field of education. After completing 30 hours of college-level coursework, EGSC-S students who have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 or better can transfer to Georgia Southern University or another university-level institution or state college, though students may choose to continue with East Georgia State College and complete the requirements for an Associate of Arts degree by taking classes on the main campus in Swainsboro or online, prior to transferring.
While at East Georgia State College-Statesboro, students are able to take advantage of many of the benefits of Georgia Southern University, including library use, cultural events, campus meal plans, intramural sports, fitness extension facilities, athletic tickets, marching band, and more. Students attending EGSC-S are also eligible to enroll in health and physical education classes through Georgia Southern University.
