It is important for students to apply for financial aid as early as possible so that the financial need for all applicants can be determined prior to registration. The recommended time for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is as soon as the parents’ and/or student’s Federal Income Tax Returns are completed. DO NOT wait until the tax deadline, April 15th, to file your taxes. The Office of Financial Aid processes completed applications based on the application completion date.
In order for financial aid to be available at the time of registration,
all required documents as well as official acceptance to East Georgia
College must be filed in the Office of Admissions, Records, and
Financial Aid by the following priority file dates:
Students who DO NOT have a complete financial aid file, including all student aid report corrections by the above priority dates, may be required to pay all educational expenses incurred until applications are processed and eligibility is determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Applications received after these dates will receive consideration as time permits. All financial aid awards are made based on the current academic year. The East Georgia College financial aid award year begins in the Fall Semester and ends at the conclusion of the Summer Semester. Beginning freshmen enrolling for the summer semester and wishing to apply for financial aid should complete the current and next academic year financial aid application processes. Example: If a new freshman student is beginning in the Summer 2009 semester and attending the following academic year, he/she should complete both the 2008-2009 and the 2009-2010 financial aid application processes. |
