Business Services FAQ

How do I know how much my tuition and fees are?

Email invoices are sent to students' East Georgia State College Cat Mail account after registration.  You can also check your Banner Web account to determine your tuition and fee charges.

If I am receiving financial aid, how can I determine if it has been processed and applied to my charges?

Check your Banner Web account to determine if your financial aid has been applied to your charges.

If my financial aid has been processed and I am receiving a refund, when will it be available?

East Georgia State College and HigherOne have formed a partnership to handle refunds. The first disbursement of Financial Aid Refunds for a semester is usually two to three weeks into the semester. Subsequent disbursement of Financial Aid Refunds will continue each Thursday. The financial aid disbursement date to your student account is not the date refunds are released to HigherOne.  If you are receiving a loan, the lender’s disbursement date is not the date refunds are released to HigherOne.

How will I receive my HigherOne MyOne Card?

After you have completed your registration, a card file will be sent form us to HigherOne.  The card will be mailed from HigherOne not EGSC.  The card will be mailed to the student’s legal address on file with the college. Don't lose your card or throw it away – It will cost you $20 to get a new one. Once you receive your HigherOne MyOne Card in the mail, visit http://www.MyOneMoney.com to choose your refund preference.

• When activating your HigherOne MyOne Card it will prompt you for an EGSC Email Password…this is the last 4 digits of your SSN and the last 2 digits of your birth year.

Funds are sent from EGSC to HigherOne, who then disburses them according to your preference.  If you do not activate your card, you will not receive a refund. Funds are typically available for disbursement to HigherOne two to three weeks after classes start.

Why do I need to choose a refund preference with HigherOne if I am not receiving Financial Aid?

All student refunds are sent to HigherOne for disbursement.

Example:  Student pays for classes out-of-pocket and then withdraws – any money EGSC owes the student, because of the withdrawal, would be sent to HigherOne for disbursement. For HigherOne MyOne card questions, please contact Pamela Herrington at (478)289-2024.

Will I be able to use my financial aid to purchase books?

If your financial aid award amount has been “memo/authorized” to your student account and exceeds the amount of tuition and fees you owe, you may be able to charge books at the East Georgia State College Bookstore using a percentage of those funds.  However, you must give EGSC permission to deduct additional charges from excess financial aid.

How do I authorize EGSC to deduct additional charges from excess financial aid?

Four questions will pop up when you log in to Banner Web for the first time. These questions are asking you whether or not you want the Business Office to use your financial aid to pay for other charges such as books, prior semester charges, or non-institutional charges such as parking tickets, fines, etc.

If I don't receive financial aid, when must I pay my tuition and fees?

It is a Board of Regents policy that all tuition and fees are due upon registration.  Final fee payment deadline is the date by which all tuition and fees must be paid to prevent cancellation of your classes.  Final Fee Payment Deadline will be posted on the Academic Calendar and e-mail invoices will be sent to student Cat Mail accounts.
