Test Taking Tips
| 1The hardest part of taking a math test is being able to distinguish between the various types of problems. | 6 Do as many problems as you can until you feel comfortable with the material. | |
| 2 Work all homework problems. Make a note of the differences in the problems. Write down the steps to each problem. | 7 A day or so BEFORE the test, seek help on any last minute questions that you may have. | |
| 3 Go back to the class notes and follow the examples making sure you understand each step. This takes time. | 8 Find a friend in the class to study with. You can be beneficial to each other. | |
| 4 Reading a math book takes time. Be patient. | 9 Take advantage of the tutor services at the Academic Resource Center. | |
| 5 Don't wait to the last minute to study. Make sure you leave time to ask questions in class AFTER you have studied. | 10 Math is a cumulative subject. You REALLY need to understand the current material to understand future material. |
