EGC - GaVIEW Vista / AOL Issues

GaVIEW VISTA / AOL ISSUES

There are several issues involving AOL and GaVIEW Vista. You cannot use the AOL browser. The following are steps you need to take to resolve these issues.

Version 9: Complete the following instructions first, then proceed to the instructions for Versions prior to Version 9, found below.

	Log on to AOL
	Click on Settings
	Click on Internet Properties
	Under "TopSpeed - AOL Browser Accelerator", uncheck the box to optimize web browsing using TopSpeed technology
	Under "Related Settings", click the checkbox next to "Use your Internet Explorer settings to set advanced browsing options" (Make sure you've set Internet Explorer options according to the instructions found here: http://www.webct.com/tuneup
	Click Save
	Click Pop-up Options. Make sure that popup windows are allowed when using GaVIEW Vista. Click save

AOL Versions prior to Version 9:

	Log on to AOL
	Open a Private Chat (This will keep AOL from timing you out.) by going to People >> Start Your Own Chat >> enter any name for the chat >> Go Chat
	Minimize AOL (The [-] button NOT the [x]
	Open Internet Explorer
	Go to https://ega.view.usg.edu
	Click on "East Georgia College"
	Log in
