David L. Strickland, is Professor of Sociology and Director of the FIRST CLASS First-Year Experience Program at East Georgia State College where he has taught since 1995. He served as Director of Institutional Research for three years. He is the author of College Success: A Concise Practical Guide which is used as a textbook for first-year seminars in about 100 colleges and universities nationwide. Strickland has published numerous articles and chapters on the sociology of health care and coauthored the Introduction to Sociology eCore course, used throughout the University System of Georgia. Currently, he is pursuing the MS in First-Years Studies at Kennesaw State University
