Bio

Education:
B.A., The University of North Carolina at Asheville, 1988, with Distinction in History
M.A., The University of Georgia, 1990
Ph.D., The University of Georgia, 1998

Biography:
Dr. Dee McKinney is professor of history at East Georgia State College where she also serves as the Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning. Dr. McKinney teaches Western Civilization and the History of Science. She taught at The University of Florida before joining the faculty at East Georgia State College in 2002. Dr. McKinney has served as a content expert for the AP World History exam and has presented papers both in the US and Canada on the pedagogy of teaching history, with a particular focus on discussions using primary sources in the undergraduate classroom.
