Harley Strickland has been named the new communications coordinator for East Georgia State College.
Strickland joins the EGSC staff after working with WTOC-TV in Savannah, Ga., as a multimedia journalist. She is no stranger to EGSC, however. She began college in 2013 at East Georgia State College’s Statesboro campus. Strickland later transferred to Georgia Southern University, where she received her degree in journalism and minor in public relations.
“It really feels like I am returning home,” said Strickland. “East Georgia State College has always held a special place in my heart. I’m proud to be back joining my EGSC family as a friend and now employee.”
Strickland’s title of communications coordinator will allow her to assist in developing and executing integral communication initiatives and conceptualizes, plans, and implements the college’s internal and external communications.
East Georgia State College (EGSC), an access institution of the University System of Georgia (USG), is an affordable gateway to quality higher education, enabling all students to achieve their academic goals with minimum delay and expense.
Students can pursue associate degrees, targeted bachelor’s degrees and transfer paths to other institutions. EGSC is among the first and few USG institutions approved to award associate degrees with disciplinary distinction.
