On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, East Georgia State College held their Homecoming and Spring Formal. The theme was “Green and Gold: Never Fold,” and was held at the Sudie A. Fulford Community Learning Center. Attendees enjoyed a lighted dance floor and a casino night featuring Black Jack, Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps, Roulette and a Money Machine.
EGSC’s 2016 Homecoming Queen was Breanna Stidem, representing the Student Government Association. The Homecoming King was Dave Pitts, representing the International Club. First runner up for Queen was Briunna Robinson, representing Bobcat Cheerleading, and first runner up for King was Jacob Teston, representing Bobcat Baseball.
The week prior to the event, representatives from clubs and organizations on campus campaigned. Representatives were: Mary Hart and Rudy Kaht for Phi Theta Kappa, Britne McDuffie and Dave Pitts for International Club, Keshauna Jones and Kevin Higgins for the Hoopee Bird staff, Courtney Hewitt for Bobcat Softball and Jacob Teston for Bobcat Baseball, Alexus Tillmon for Women’s Basketball and Sayvon Wilson for Men’s Basketball, Paige Hodges and Hakeem Rhodes for Student Life, Kaylia Johnson and Shawn Hagins for Residence Life, Briunna Robinson and Brandyn Snyder for Bobcat Cheerleading, Haleigh Baker and Brannon Braddock for Student Ambassadors and Breanna Stidem and Barrett Pritchard for Student Government Association.
Homecoming night featured a music by student Dajha Carswell, and the $250 Casino Night winner was Alexis Sanders.
There were over 400 in attendance, leading Assistant Student Life Director Taylor Edenfield to say, “This was one of the most well-attended events we’ve had.”
