On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, chemistry faculty from Georgia Southern University will be at East Georgia State College in Swainsboro to talk about a grant they received from the National Science Foundation (NSF) called CEMITURE. This grant is to offer summer research opportunities for local undergraduate students. The talk will be at 11 a.m. in room C-233.
CEMITURE stands for “CollaborativE Multidisciplinary Investigations Through Undergraduate Research Experiences.” Students applying for this program, if selected, will conduct 10 weeks of summer research in a lab at Georgia Southern University. They will also receive a $5,000 stipend, housing and a meal plan. The application deadline is March 1, 2016, and the early deadline to apply for international research in Ghana is January 20, 2016.
