Georgia Council for Economic Education will present a FREE one day workshop on March 23 for 8th grade History teachers. A one-day workshop for eighth-grade Georgia History teachers conducted in conjunction with the Georgia Humanities Council and the Smithsonian Institution Exhibition Service, this workshop will focus on the role that professional and amateur sports have played in shaping Georgia’s modern economy. Workshop participants will receive lesson plans and resources linked to the Georgia Performance Standards, and will have an opportunity to tour the Smithsonian Institution’s Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America exhibit. This workshop has no registration fee, materials provided, substitute reimbursement available, and lunch included.
