EGSC Lady Bobcats Struggling at Bat

Article by: Will Brown

This time last week, the East Georgia State College Lady Bobcats softball team was riding high with a 7-1 mark in the conference. Now though, the team is reeling after losing five straight games in the conference.

The bats have fallen off completely while the pitching has remained solid. This was evident in their last two game set against ABAC as they lost by scores of 3-1 and 1-0.

This follows losses to West Georgia Tech by a score of 1-0 (though they did win game one 10-0), and Georgia Perimeter by scores of 2-1 and 2-0.

The Lady Bobcats have scored two runs in their last five games after scoring 159 in their first 32, nearly five runs a game.

The good news is that the team still has a ERA of 2.19, one of the best in the entire country. With that level pitching, they will always have a chance to beat anybody that they play.

The Lady Bobcats have slipped from first place to fifth in a week, but can hopefully right the shit just in time for conference tournament time as they get ready to play Gordon State College on April 20th to finish out the regular season.
