EGSC to celebrate Ethics Awareness Week

Each year East Georgia State College participates in Ethics Awareness Week. This year, EGSC will celebrate November 11-15. The University System of Georgia has an Ethics and Compliance Program that promotes the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct within the University System of Georgia and to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Ethics Awareness Week helps serve as a reminder of those standards and conduct.

EGSC has activities set up throughout the week for students, faculty and staff to take part in. Monday, November 11, the daily email quizzes will begin. These quizzes will take place all week and feature ethics-based questions through EGSC’s email platform. Human Resources will also be sending a daily fraud awareness email. The University System of Georgia will be releasing their Ethics Refresher Compliance Training Modules on Monday. On Tuesday, November 12, EGSC’s Student Government Association voted to watch the movie The Help in the Luck F. Gambrell Auditorium at 12:30 p.m. Student Life will be providing pizza for students. Wednesday will be trivia day in the library. Game times are 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Teams can sign up to compete for prizes. On Thursday, students, faculty and staff can form teams to play heads up in the student center, rooms B104 and B105. The game will be open from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. and again from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Popcorn will be served starting at 2 p.m.

EGSC’s Statesboro and Augusta campuses will also be participating in Ethics Awareness Week. On Tuesday, the campuses will be hosting an escape room that will feature an ethics theme. Statesboro will host theirs in the ACE Center from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Augusta will host theirs in Payne Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Both campuses will be included in the Ethics Awareness Week emails.

The Ethics Awareness Week Committee includes Mary Smith, Chair; Beth Jones, Mack Seckinger, Stacey Grant, Sherrie Helms, Nick Kelch, Norma Kennedy, Angela Storck, Jessica Williamson, Katelyn Moore, Harley Strickland, Chuck Wimberly and Tracy Woods.
