The organization helps over 250,000 members each year prepare for careers in business and the corporate world.
Prior to the state competition, the EGSC students had competed in regional competition in Tifton. The students tested their knowledge and skills in business and business-related academic fields of study, such as accounting, economics, entrepreneurship concepts, and in other areas.    The results of the competition are as follows:  Lacey Bishop – Entrepreneurship Concepts – 2nd place; Jordan Robins – Macroeconomics – 1st place and Accounting Principles – 2nd place; Dana Roberts – Future Business Executive – 1st place and Xaishia Sutton – Microeconomics – 2nd place.  These students will now compete in the national competition in June in Atlanta.
According to Natasha Goss, Assistant Professor of Accounting and Business, “I am beyond excited for these students.  This was our first year participating in the competition and they really worked hard and represented East Georgia State College well.  I am looking forward to bringing back some wins from the national competition.”
Dr. Lee Cheek, Dean of the School of Social Sciences at EGSC, suggested that the “Statewide success of our students prove the great educational work that is taking place at our institution.  No one should be surprised when an EGSC business students wins a national championship!  Under the leadership of Professor Goss and our colleagues, truly nothing is impossible.”
