EGSC-Augusta volunteers recognized by Fort Gordon

The 202nd Battalion at Ford Gordon recently awarded East Georgia State College – Augusta’s students and faculty with a Certificate of Appreciation for volunteering. Students and faculty on the Augusta campus sent holiday care packages and Christmas cards, as well as thank you notes, to deployed soldiers from the unit who could not come home this year for the holidays.
“Some students and faculty donated toiletries or used books or blankets to send as well,” said Corrina J. Honeycutt, adjunct professor of English, whose husband led the volunteer effort on the project. “My husband said that the donation boxes were overflowing.”
We are proud of EGSC – Augusta’s commitment to their community!
