Dr. Chevalier attends GPCA Symposium

East Georgia State College’s Interim Biology Chair Dr. David Chevalier recently attended the 5th Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance (GPCA) Symposium. The symposium was held Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, Ga.
GPCA is a non-profit organization which includes state and federal agencies, museums, botanical gardens, universities and plant societies. The goal of the organization is to preserve and propagate endangered plant species. EGSC joined the organization in 2015.
During the symposium, Georgia Department of Natural Resources Director of Wildlife Resources Division Rusty Garrison presented a special recognition award to the GPCA from the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. This is the second national award received by the GPCA.
