DAR donates to EGSC Heritage Center

The Governor David Emanuel-Adam Brinson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently donated a collection of their annual scrapbooks to the Heritage Center of the East Georgia State College Library. Several years ago, there were two DAR chapters in Emanuel County—The Adam Brinson Chapter in Twin City and the Governor David Emanuel Chapter in Swainsboro. They have since merged to form the Governor David Emanuel-Adam Brinson Chapter. The collection of scrapbooks contains material from both chapters. They are of local historical and genealogical significance due to their content.
The college also received two monetary donations to help defray the cost of additional shelving for the material. Presenting the donations to EGSC were DAR members Anne Cobb, Diana Malone, and DAR Chapter Regent Kay Lewis. Receiving the donation were EGSC Library Director Amanda McKenzie and Dr. John Derden, Professor Emeritus of History at EGSC.
