The East Georgia Bobcat baseball team is got their conference schedule off to a great start, beating Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College by a score of 5-3 at home on Tuesday.
Chris Hobbs and Alan Donnelly each had two RBI in the game, Hobbs also scored a run. The offense as a whole managed eight hits and four walks.
Austin Denney was the star of the game though, going 1-2 with a walk and scoring a run while also throwing a complete game. Over the course of his nine innings, Denney struck out five, walked one, gave up seven hits and three earned runs.
Denney has continued his success from last year, as the complete game was his second of the year. He’s pitched in seven games, starting five of them, going 2-4 with a 3.60 ERA in 35 innings. The Bobcats are hoping that he continues his steady, solid pitching throughout the season.
The win puts the Bobcats at 8-10 overall this season. They travel to ABAC to play three games this weekend. The next home games for the Bobcats will be March 12th against Darton College.
