Today, September 26, begins the 8-week HealthTrails Challenge, a University System of Georgia wellness program that draws on the excitement of seeing and learning about new places and people by tracing famous trails around the world. East Georgia State College will compete against 10 other USG institutions during this program and the winning team will receive a free lunch and a traveling trophy presented to the president by our chancellor.
To kick off this event, EGSC President Bob Boehmer will lead the campus at 3 p.m. today as participants take their steps toward this goal. Meet in front of the Luck F. Gambrell building to join in the fun!
The HealthTrails Challenge runs from September 26 to November 18, 2016, and registration is open until October 17. The goal of the program is to travel 400+ virtual miles along your choice of 8 trails. If you record at least 6,000 steps a day, five days a week; consume five produce servings a day for five days a week, and sleep 7 – 9 hours a nigh for three nights a week, this goal is easily reached. All benefit-eligible USG employees can participate, and departments can create teams for inter-campus competition!
