The East Georgia State College Lady Bobcats Softball Team made it four in a row on Saturday, February 15 by defeating USC Sumter in a double header game at Bobcat Field on the EGSC Swainsboro campus.
The Bobcats would win game one by a score of 17 to 9 over the Fire Ants of Sumter. Leading the way for the Bobcats would be Casey Sims who would score four runs for the Bobcats from her lead-off position, with Alana Lee going 4 for 5 at the plate for the Bobcats. Dani Wells would hit the first of four home runs of the day for the Bobcats, as the Bobcats pounded out 16 hits and 17 runs for the win.
Madison Poole would get her second victory of the season for the Bobcats, allowing just seven hits and three walks on the day.
Game two would see the Bobcats continue their hitting performances at the plate with Allana Hooks, Alana Lee, and Taylor Morgan all hitting home run blasts over the right field fence. Alana Lee would lead all scores with three runs scored and three RBI’s, with Allana Hooks leading the Bobcats in game two at the plate going 3 for 4.
The Bobcats would pick up the victory by a score of 11 to 2 in game two, with Madison Bussell getting the victory on the mound, giving up just five hits and one walk on the day. Payten Strickland would close the game by allowing only one hit in two innings of work.
