The third session of the 2018 Total Wellness Series will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at noon at the Sudie A. Fulford Community Learning Center, located at East Georgia State College’s Swainsboro campus. The session will be provided by East Georgia Healthcare Center, and the topic to be addressed is “Detect. Protect. Correct. Managing High Blood Pressure.”
High blood pressure is often referred to as the silent killer, seldom having any symptoms. In the United States, approximately 85 million people have high blood pressure—about one in every three adults over 20, according to the American Heart Association. Participants will gain a better understanding of high blood pressure, learn about its symptoms, and learn how to monitor their pressures.
The series is free and made possible through a partnership with Emanuel Medical Center, Queensborough National Bank and Trust Company, East Georgia Healthcare Center, East Georgia State College, UGA Extension and Sweet Tea Grille at the Mill. The session will begin at noon and will feature lunch, a presentation and door prizes. Enrollment is limited to 20, and registration is required. If you have questions or would like to register, please contact the Fulford Center at 478-289-2464.
