Science Olympiad held at EGSC

East Georgia State College recently hosted a regional Science Olympiad for Division C (Grades 9-12). Thirteen teams from 11 schools came to EGSC on February 13, 2016 to compete against each other for a place at the Georgia State Science Olympiad at Emory University on April 16, 2016.
Of the nearly 200 students participating, top honors went to the following:
First place went to Davidson Fine Arts Academy and second to Lakeside High School. These two schools will go on to compete at state level at Emory University in April. Third place went to Augusta Area Homeschoolers, Southeast Bulloch High School took fourth place, and South Effingham County High School came in fifth.
First, second and third place medals were awarded in each category, and the participating schools had a great day proving their mettle as scientists.
