Outlaw to speak at Black History Month Program

   On Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 1:15 p.m., Lyons native Catherine Outlaw will speak as part of EGSC’s African-American Male Initiative (AAMI) Black History Month program. Her topic will be "Looking back and moving forward." The talk will be held in the Luck F. Gambrell Center Auditorium, followed by an art show by Alex Mack, also known as @ApHropaintbrush.
   Outlaw is a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cobbtown and is a graduate of Fort Valley State University. She has extended studies from Georgia Southern University as well. She is a former professor of English at East Georgia State College and is happily retired, but just as active as ever. She is recognized as a minister of music, motivational speaker and comedienne. She and her husband have three children and five grandchildren.
