Taylor Sapp, Miss East Georgia State College 2018, visited Eastside Baptist Church and Claxton Elementary School on March 1 for Dr. Seuss Day (celebrated on March 2.) Part of National Read Across America Week, Dr. Seuss Day is held every year on Dr. Seuss’s birthday to motivate and inspire students to read. This event brings the excitement of reading to children, and began in 1997 to get kids excited about reading.
