The opening acts for the upcoming College Days, Country Nights: The Chase Rice Back to College Tour have been announced. Georgia native Jon Langston and Louisiana native Lacy Cavalier will be opening for Chase Rice when he takes the stage at East Georgia State College on April 29, 2016.
Langston always had music in his life, even playing in a band in eighth grade; however, he set his sights on playing football in high school and earned a Division I scholarship to play at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina in 2009. He didn’t pick up his guitar again until his junior year of college, after multiple concussions forced him to hang up his uniform. He started writing his own songs and posting them to Youtube. He played the Georgia Theatre on November 7, 2015 as a headline performer, and is now a resident of Nashville, Tenn., where he has a publishing deal with Sony ATV and is managed by KP Entertainment.
Cavalier’s career began at nine years old when she landed a coveted role on the hit children’s TV series Barney and Friends. She spent two seasons on the show and decided to focus on her music. Soon, she was performing at every fair and pageant around her hometown of Minden, La. In January 2013, at the age of 15, she packed her bags and moved to Nashville, where she quickly caught the attention of award winning songwriter and producer Victoria Shaw, who signed her. Her music is inspired by her Louisiana roots and features a hint of Cajun flair.
