Join us for Black Freedom and The American Revolution

On September 10, 2020 at 11 a.m., join Dr. Anthony Di Lorenzo for Black Freedom and the American Revolution, a special presentation as part of East Georgia State College's continuing discussion of our Convocation theme, Racial Justice and Equality.

From the start, people of African descent contributed to the cause of freedom in the American Revolution, playing key roles in such catalytic events as the Boston Massacre and the Battle of Bunker Hill. They fought and struggled on both sides of the conflict, pursuing their literal independence from enslavement and prejudice. In the aftermath of the war, Black Americans would demand that the new nation live up to its principles and embrace equal rights for all. We continue, in the present, to heed their call.

This presentation will take place via Zoom and is for EGSC students, faculty and staff. To view this special event, log in to D2L and click on the event announcement.
