On September 22, 2018, East Georgia State College will hold Family and Friends Fun Day at their Swainsboro campus. Beginning with the Duct Tape Regatta at 11 a.m., the day will feature fun and excitement for all ages!
Bring the whole family to enjoy watching the Duct Tape Regatta, then visit EGSC Club Booths for different treats and giveaways. There will also be bubble soccer, a large inflatable slide, t-shirt booth, a chalk art competition, barrel train for the kids and more! Don’t miss free cotton candy from the Swainsboro Jaycees and free hot dogs, chips and drinks from EGSC Student Life and the EGSC Foundation! A trolley will be giving rides around the campus to take advantage of the beautiful outdoors and to help our guests easily get from place to place, so don’t let anything keep you from joining EGSC as we welcome our family and friends to campus!
To participate in the Duct Tape Regatta, contact Stacey Grant at 478-289-2105 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Check in for the Regatta begins at 10 a.m. and the race begins at 11 a.m. Anyone is welcome to participate, but boats must be made of flat cardboard and duct tape—nothing else! The boat must have a bottom and sides (no paddleboards, etc.) and there can only be two people in the boat during the race. Team members must be on both sides of the pond to help with the launch of the boat and to pull the boat out again, and participants must use oars and life vests provided by EGSC. Awards will be presented to the fastest and overall winner of the race, the most creative, and the Titanic Award presented to the boat that sinks the most dramatically.
In addition to the Regatta, there will also be a basketball tournament in the gymnasium. Contact EGSC Men’s Basketball Coach Leroy Jordan at 478-289-2162 or email@example.com more information. Sign up will be day of, so come ready to play!
If that’s not enough, there will also be a kickball tournament on the EGSC Bobcat Softball Field that afternoon! For more information, contact EGSC Softball Coach Becca Hewitt at 478-289-2358 or firstname.lastname@example.org or EGSC Baseball Coach Dusty Hess at 478-289-2052 or email@example.com.
If sports are not your thing and you’re more drawn to artistic endeavors, there will be a Chalk Art Competition running that day as well. Contact Desmal Purcell at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
