On August 17, 2017 beginning at 11 a.m., East Georgia State College will hold a Ribbon Cutting and Open House for their Academic Building Expansion. This GO Bond-funded project adds over 13,000 square feet to the original building constructed in 1974. Three new state-of-the art Biology Labs to support the BS in Biology degree, as well as a multi-purpose 84-seat tiered classroom are valuable additions to the academic space on campus.
The project broke ground on October 4, 2016, with construction ongoing since then. Statesboro contractor Y-Delta, Inc. has been working vigorously to ensure that completion of this new addition and the renovation of over half of the existing structure is accomplished in time for Fall 2017 classes, which begin on August 14.
“We are grateful to our local legislators for their support of capital projects for East Georgia State College,” said Michelle Goff, EGSC’s Director of Business Operations. “We anticipate that students will be well pleased with this new state-of-the-art learning space.”
The Ribbon Cutting and Open House will be a chance for EGSC to showcase their new educational space, and they look forward to sharing this exciting chapter in Bobcat history with the community. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to visit EGSC’s Swainsboro campus!
