Exit: Stage Right 10-Minute Play Writing Contest calls for entries

East Georgia State College’s 9th Annual Exit: Stage Right 10-Minute Play Writing Contest is now calling for entries! The deadline is 12 noon on Thursday, November 15, 2018, and entries must be submitted to Professor Sebastian Verdis, EGSC-Statesboro School of Humanities.

This contest is open to all—students, faculty, staff and members of the community. Entrants are asked to submit one 10-minute play in the proper format.  One entry per person. First prize will win $100, second prize will win $75 and third prize will win $50. Winners will be notified in January of 2019 and the three prize-winning plays will be performed as part of the Spring Semester 2019 Reader’s Theatre Production: Works In Progress, at EGSC’s Statesboro campus.

The choice and style of play is up to the writer, but scripts must be entirely written by one or more people who are students, faculty, staff or members of the community served by EGSC. Musicals and screenplays are not eligible, nor are adaptations of other authors’ works.

Submitted plays must be 10 Minute One Act Plays only. Submit two copies of your play—one with your name and one without. Keep your original copy, as scripts will not be returned.

Scripts must be in the Standard American Format for plays, and must be typed, page numbered and stapled with just one staple in the upper left side or they will not be read. On the title page, please write your name, address, city, state, zip code, home telephone number, cell phone number and email address. Scripts not meeting the aforementioned criteria will not be considered for submission.

Entries may be mailed to Professor Verdis at EGSC-Statesboro, 10449 US Highway 301 South, Statesboro, GA 30458 or submitted at the EGSC-Statesboro campus.
