East Georgia State College’s Jahmari Etienne recently signed a two-year scholarship to play basketball with South Carolina State University. Etienne, a sophomore at EGSC, is from New York but was raised in Stone Mountain, Ga.
“Jahmari has demonstrated that he is committed to working on his game from day one,” said Head Basketball Coach Leroy Jordan. “With a very strong work ethic and a natural ability to get the ball in the basket, he rose to become our leading and most consistent scorer last year.”
Etienne is the only returner to play in every game for the Bobcats last season.
“He has earned every bit of this and I believe he will be an asset to South Carolina State,” continued Coach Jordan. “Jahmari has become one of the players to pay attention to for this season and is poised to have a stellar one.”
“Jahmari is one of the nicest young men that I’ve ever been around. He’s always willing to help his teammates and is always good to the young kids that come to the school for games,” said EGSC Athletic Director Chuck Wimberly. “He’s always trying to help others become better and I wish him nothing but the best as he transitions from EGSC to South Carolina State.”
Etienne can be seen on the court this season as a point guard and shooting guard for the Bobcats. Don’t miss out on any of the action at EGSC!
