Jessica Williamson, Director of East Georgia State College - Statesboro (EGSC - S), has been selected to participate in Leadership Bulloch, a program designed by the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce.
The Leadership Bulloch Selection Committee targets people for the program who have a sincere commitment, motivation and interest to serve in the community and have demonstrated commitment by past community activities. The participants also must represent all segments of the community and have demonstrated leadership qualities.
Williamson fits these qualifications by leading the Statesboro campus of EGSC. She develops strategic goals for the campus, oversees the delivery of services and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia Southern University. Williamson has served in the Army National Guard and has been employed in higher education since 2012 with progressively responsible experience.
“I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Leadership Bulloch,” said Williamson. “As a representative from one of the three higher education institutions in Statesboro, I hope not only to gain invaluable insight on how East Georgia State College - Statesboro can better serve the Bulloch community, but to also contribute to the leadership experience for all Leadership Bulloch participants.”
“East Georgia State College is proud to be part of the Bulloch County community and proud to have Jessi Williamson, our Statesboro campus director, represent the college in this outstanding leadership program. Her participation will help the college to better understand how we can work even more closely with the Bulloch County School District, Georgia Southern University, and Ogeechee Technical College to continue to expand educational opportunities and prepare students for the workforce in this great region,” said EGSC President Dr. Bob Boehmer.
Leadership Bulloch seeks to encourage, develop, and provide community leadership in order to enhance the quality of life. Specific goals of the program are to identify and educate potential, emerging, and existing community leaders; to promote and facilitate community projects; and to provide a resource pool for the benefit of the community.
