EGSC Performing Arts Club presents play writing contest

The Performing Arts Club of East Georgia State College is presenting Exit Stage Right, a 10-minute, one-act play writing contest.

The play writing contest is sponsored by the East Georgia State College Foundation and is open to anyone in the EGSC service area. There will be three prizes awarded to the top plays. The first place winner will get $100, the second place winner will get $75, and the third place winner will get $50. All three winners will have their one act plays produced and directed by Sebastian Verdis, EGSC Associate Professor of Dramatic Arts, as part of the 2020 Reader’s Theatre Production, Works in Progress, in the Spring.

The deadline for submissions into the contest is Thursday, November 21, 2019 by noon.

The choice and style of play is up to you and scripts must be entirely written by one or more people. Musicals and screenplays are not eligible, nor are adaptations of other author's works. Only 10-minute one act plays with no more than four characters are acceptable. When submitting, submit two copies of the play: one copy with your name the other without.  Keep your original copy.  Scripts will not be returned. Scripts must be in the Standard American format for plays and scripts must be typed, page numbered and stapled with just one staple in the upper left side or they will not be read. On the title page of the play, please include your name, address, city, state, zip, home telephone number, cell phone number and email address.
