East Georgia State College Professor of Biology Dr. John Cadle has been named the Interim Chair of the Department of Biology. Dr. Cadle became a part time professor at EGSC in 2016 and later became an associate professor in 2018.
Cadle earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Georgia and his Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley.
“Dr. Cadle brings excellent talents to this interim position. He is an excellent communicator, an active researcher, an accomplished professor, a student advocate, and a trusted colleague,” remarked Dr. Sandra Sharman, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. “East Georgia State College is fortunate to benefit from Dr. Cadle’s impressive skill set. I have confidence that he will manage his duties as interim chair with great proficiency.”
In Dr. Cadle’s new role, he will oversee the operations of the biology department, including budget oversight, coordinating the course assessment program, being the interface between the department and the administration, and implementing college-wide initiatives within the department.
“I'm on a steep learning curve in this new role. I'm looking forward to holding everything together while I learn the ropes and eventually learn to relax a bit more in the job. I like challenges, so that's a plus,” said Dr. Cadle.
