East Georgia State College’s application to host a local chapter of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society was recently approved. Known as TriBeta, Beta Beta Beta is the second Honor Society to be hosted on the EGSC campus.
The goal of TriBeta is to improve “the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research,” according to the TriBeta website, www.tribeta.org.
“The Biological Honor Society will provide new opportunities for the students majoring in biology at EGSC,” said Dr. David Chevalier, Interim Biology Chair. “Students will be able to apply for research awards and attend annual meetings of TriBeta.”
The installment off the local chapter of TriBeta will take place later in the semester.
