Beginning September 28, 2018, East Georgia State College will begin offering the Bobcat Express, a bus route on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, for its students. The route will run Friday from 5 – 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., stopping at Bobcat Villas on the EGSC campus, Fred’s Shopping Center, the Walmart Shopping Center, and the Harvey's Supermarket parking lot.
This route will give EGSC students access to local businesses such as Berni's on West Main, Burger King, Capital Nails, Cato Fashions, CitiTrends, Cricket Wireless, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar Store, Flea Market, Fred's, FroYo & Joe, Hardee's, Harvey's, Hibbet Sports, Huddle House, It's Fashion, Kellam's Variety, Main Street Market, McDonald's, Nails 4 U, New Garden Chinese Express, Peddler Antiques, Peking Super Chinese Buffet, Pinetucky Meats, Rainbow Antiques, Shoe Show, Sonic, Stewart's Jewelers, Subway, Taco Bell, Verizon, Walgreens, WalMart, Wendy's, Wilson's Pharmacy, Wren's, Young's Fashions, Zaxby's and more!
The Bobcat Express will provide no additional stops at this time, and service will end promptly at posted times. This service is for EGSC students only.
“This bus route will reinforce our historically strong connection between college and community,” said EGSC President Bob Boehmer during his State of the College Presidential Address on September 18, where the Bobcat Express was first announced. “Hopefully, the demand for this service will be extremely high and will justify future expansion.”
