The Charles Eames Leadership Scholarship to East Georgia State College for a non-traditional student from Jefferson County has been awarded to Lisa Moye from Louisville. Lisa, a 1990 graduate of Louisville High School is attending EGSC to become an RN.
“Because of my desire to make a difference by helping others who are in need, I truly feel a passion to continue in the field of nursing,” commented Ms. Moye. “I am honored to have been chosen to receive this award and will work hard to prove I am worthy,” she added.  Moye is a 2010 graduate of the LPN program at Augusta Technical College and is employed by Pruitt Health at Old Capital in Louisville.
Charles Eames is originally from Ohio, but has spent the last 30 years in the south and is a retired librarian from Waycross, Georgia. He was also a former librarian in Jefferson County and is giving back to that area through this scholarship.   He has served on the board of trustees at Waycross College in Waycross and since the merger with South Georgia State College, is serving on the board of the newly formed James M. He has a strong desire to help others further their educational pursuits and proves that consistently with his philanthropy.
Ms. Moye is the mother of two grown children, a 2007 kidney donor and a member of Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church.  At EGSC, she maintains a 3.5 GPA in her coursework.
