Cross the pond or sink at the annual Bobcat Regatta!

On September 22, 2018, East Georgia State College will host their annual Duct Tape Regatta, where teams build boats out of cardboard and duct tape—nothing else!—and see who can cross Ezra Pond the fastest… or sink in the most spectacular fashion while trying to cross.
Check in for the Regatta begins at 10 a.m. and the race begins at 11 a.m. Anyone is welcome to participate, but boats must be made of flat cardboard and duct tape—nothing else! The boat must have a bottom and sides (no paddleboards, etc.) and there can only be two people in the boat during the race. Team members must be on both sides of the pond to help with the launch of the boat and to pull the boat out again, and participants must use oars and life vests provided by EGSC.
Awards will be presented to the fastest and overall winner of the race, the most creative, and the Titanic Award presented to the boat that sinks the most dramatically. Questions or sign up inquiries can be directed to Stacey Grant at 478-289-2015 or skgrant@ega.edu.
