Changes to exiting EGSC-Statesboro

East Georgia State College and the Georgia State Patrol have had ongoing concerns regarding vehicles exiting the Statesboro campus by making a left turn onto Highway 301 North. This situation has the potential for a fatality accident at any time. The GSP has made multiple requests for the exit onto Highway 301 to be closed or converted to right turn only.
As of January 11, 2016, bollards have been placed in the left exit lane and the exit is now right turn only. Those exiting campus who need to go north onto Highway 301 must use the rear campus exit to A.J. Riggs Road. The front exit of the campus will be for right turns only (southbound) onto Highway 301.
The Georgia State Patrol and EGSC Police Department will be enforcing the no left turn. Any vehicles making a left turn from the front exit will be issued a traffic citation.
