East Georgia State College’s Bobcats have been busy this past week, with baseball, softball and men’s and women’s basketball taking to field and court to play.
On Tuesday, February 20, the Bobcat Baseball team lost to Southern Union 10-7. They traveled to Palatka, Fla. for a tournament February 23 – 25. The team defeated the defending national champions, Chipola, on Sunday by a score of 4 – 1. Baseball played again on Tuesday, Feb. 27, then will play on March 3 at home versus Georgia Highlands at 2 p.m. and on March 6 at home versus Andrew College at 2 p.m.
The Lady Bobcat Softball team traveled to Tifton on Sunday and won game one 2 – 1, then fell short in game two, losing 7 – 3 against ABAC. They will play again on February 28 at Andrew College at 2 and 4 p.m. and then at home versus Gordon College at 2 and 4 p.m. They will also play on March 6 against Georgia Military College at 2 and 4 p.m.
The Lady Bobcats Basketball team played their final regular season home game on Wednesday, February 21 against Andrew College. They trailed at the half by six points, but took control of the game and came out on top with a 10-point victory. They traveled to Georgia Highland in Rome this past weekend. The Lady Bobcats hosted the GCAA Women’s Basketball Playoff game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. Check out next week’s article for the results of this matchup!
The Men’s Basketball team played Andrew College on Wednesday and came out on top, winning 78-71. They then traveled to Georgia Highland and defeated them 86 – 83, a huge victory for the team. They played against Atlanta Metro on Tuesday, Feb. 27 and the results will be in next week’s article!
