East Georgia State College students and members of the AAMI program (African American Male Initiative) on February 14th visited UniHealth Post-Acute Care in Swainsboro. Each patient received a rose and applesauce by the AAMI representatives.

“The students that are in the African American Male Initiative (AAMI) program are fully committed to their educational goals as well as to outreach activities and community service in the Swainsboro area.  The Peer Leaders are young men who are empowered to make a significant difference in the lives of the people in this area. Visiting UniHealth Post-Acute Care was just one of the many community activities that they have on their calendar.  “A Rose to a Senior Sweetheart” is what the students decided to call the activity and they plan to make it a permanent part of  AAMI activities,” commented Deborah Kittrell-Mikell,  AAMI Director and Academic Advising Director on Swainsboro campus.
