Effective June 1, 2005, SAT or ACT scores are no longer required for anyone whose high school class graduated within five years of the date of intended enrollment at East Georgia College. However, to exempt the COMPASS placement test, SAT scores are required. When students are admitted, they may be required to take the COMPASS Test which is an initial placement exam. Transfer students may or may not be required to take the COMPASS Test. All students who are required to take the COMPASS Test may not register without test results. Back to Top |
COMPASS TestThe COMPASS Test is a placement exam, not an admissions test. Normally, a student has already been admitted when they take the COMPASS Test. The results are given directly to the student at the end of the test, and are to be used with the student’s advisor to properly register in appropriate courses. The results are confidential and there is no cost for the COMPASS Test. This diagnostic test is designed to place each student in courses which will prepare him/her for success and achievement in their educational goals. Calculators are permitted. The COMPASS test can be taken any time after an application for admissions has been submitted. The testing lab is open Monday through Friday (with the exception of holidays) from 8 am until 3 pm. No appointment is necessary. Please report to the Admissions Office to take this test. Back to Top |
