Housing Assistant

The East Georgia College Department of Housing and Residence Life is seeking interested applicants for the position of Housing Assistant. The Housing Assistant will assume responsibility for a residential apartment complex of 200 residents when the Residence Life Coordinator is unavailable. This is a part-time position that will provide live-in coverage 7 nights per month and extended coverage for any unforeseen circumstances.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes emergency response (contacting Public Safety, 911 or on-call maintenance and being available for any needs that students may have); supervision of student staff who work inside the housing complex and clubhouse; oversight of student-run programming efforts; spending the night in an on-campus apartment. The Housing Assistant could also be asked to assist with special events, such as Preview Days or Orientation, or to assist with application processing.

Admissions Recruiter

The East Georgia College Department of Admissions is seeking interested applicants for the position of Admissions Recruiter. This is a full-time benefited position.

This position will provide concentrated recruiting efforts to assist the institution with overcoming the new Learning Support and other admission requirements. Additionally, this position assists with operational recruitment activities, represents the college at off-campus events and helps maintain student marketing which supports overall institutional enrollment. This position will assist with the management of a recruitment territory composed of Augusta, Macon, Savannah, and Atlanta. Some overnight travel will be required.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree with experience within the course of study related to the occupational field is preferred. In addition, the applicant must have one to two years of relevant experience; preferably in a college/university setting. The successful candidate should possess excellent organizational, analytical, leadership, and communication skills; outstanding collaborative and motivational skills as well as strategic planning skills; and knowledge of current practices in admission issues. Residence Life Coordinator

The East Georgia College Department of Housing and Residence Life is seeking interested applicants for the position of Residence Life Coordinator.

The Residence Life Coordinator will assume 24/7 responsibility for a residential apartment complex of 200 residents while living with those students in the complex; time off will be the equivalent of 7 days per month and must be flexible to the needs of the department. The Residence Life Coordinator will supervise 8-10 Resident Assistants and multiple student workers for the front desk and Clubhouse.

They will provide leadership input at departmental and College levels to include staff hiring/training, student leadership development, academic initiatives, alcohol education, multicultural education, orientation, health and wellness, etc. The Residence Life Coordinator will be responsible for all paperwork necessary to facilitate the day-to-day running of the housing complex, including roommate agreements, room condition reports, emergency contact cards, visitation logs, health and safety inspections, etc. The Residence Life Coordinator will also advise the Residence Hall Association and be responsible for educational and social programming efforts within the residential community.

Because this is East Georgia College's first on campus housing complex, the Residence Life Coordinator will have various opportunities to gain skill and knowledge with policy development and implementation, program growth and continued construction.

A Bachelor's Degree with experience within a residence life/housing position in a college/university setting is strongly preferred. The successful candidate should possess excellent managerial, leadership, and communication skills; outstanding collaborative and motivational skills as well as strategic planning skills; ability to act independently and to react appropriately in a crisis situation; ability to provide interpretation and enforcement of policies and procedures; and knowledge of current practices in retention issues. Basic computer skills are necessary. This is a twelve month, live-in position which will require regular interaction with residents, including nights and weekends. Custodians

Comptroller

POSITION: This is a full-time position which reports to the Vice President of Business and Finance on the Swainsboro campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of business processes and procedures; accounting functions which include grants and contracts management and capital construction projects; preparation of various monthly and quarterly financial reports; as well as assisting the Vice President with the preparation of the annual financial report for the institution. The successful candidate must possess sufficient accounting expertise to perform analysis of general ledger accounts, to understand and implement GASB accounting standards, and have working knowledge of the principles of good internal control.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates with a Master's degree, with a concentration in a course of study related to the position, and supervisory experience are desirable. Work experience of three to five years in accounting positions is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required and experience with PeopleSoft financials and state budgetary accounting is preferred. The successful candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.

Accountant I

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, tutors assist students in the Academic Instructional Resources (AIR) Center at the EGC Statesboro office, located in Statesboro, GA. Financial Aid Systems Analyst

Position Summary: The office of Financial Aid at East Georgia College seeks a Financial Aid Analyst to assist in maintaining and enhancing the financial aid module of Sungard Banner Student Information System and assist with the processing of student files.

In fulfilling these responsibilities the successful candidate will perform the following duties: maintain the Financial Aid Website; assist with the yearly database set up; troubleshoot problems within the system and pertaining to student files; import and export HOPE file from (SURFER); maintain the COD system; process student files; provide financial aid counseling to students, as well as other duties within the financial aid office.

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree is required; bachelorís degree preferred. Candidate must have two years of related work experience, preferably in Financial Aid. Candidate must be proficient with a variety of computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Records Coordinator II

This is a full-time, hourly position in the Registrar's Office. The Coordinator will report to the Registrar and provide administrative, technical and clerical support to the office. This position will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and the general public. Duties include, but are not limited to: data entry; compiling & processing student non-attendance reporting from faculty; coordinating Regents' Testing; submitting enrollment reporting data for the college to the University System in Atlanta; communicating grade submission deadlines and general correspondence to faculty throughout the semester; assisting the Assistant Registrar with student graduation requirements and overseeing graduation related functions; coordinating ACCEL high school student registration/orientation and preparing and processing transcripts.

Minimum Qualifications: A two-year degree with 1-2 years office experience required. Candidate must be skilled using computer software (Windows, Microsoft Office XP, ACCESS, e-mail, Internet). Experience with BANNER Student Information System is desirable. The successful candidate must be able to follow written and oral instructions accurately and in a timely manner. Part-Time Clerk at EGC Statesboro

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, the part-time clerk will assist the receptionist. The part-time clerk will be required to work in the busy reception area of the East Georgia College Statesboro Center, located in Statesboro, Georgia. Basketball Scorekeeper

East Georgia College wishes to announce we are receiving applications for the position of Scorekeeper for menís and womenís basketball games. This is a part-time temporary position and is available November 2011 through February 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the score, time, and other official game information is accurately reflected on the scoreboard. Candidate must be able to see play with sufficient clarity, concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions. A cooperative and productive working relationship with other participants including officials, coaches, players, supervisors, and other employees must be maintained. The candidate is required to appear on time for all scheduled games and notify appropriate individuals in advance if unable to work. This position will report to the Athletic Director.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; prior scorekeeping experience is desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a confidential background check.
