Beginning his fourth season has Head Baseball Coach, Chuck Lusted is ready to kickoff the new season with the Bobcats and move forward in pursuit of a GCAA championship title. Coach Lusted has brought a wealth of experience to the EGSC Bobcat Baseball Program in his time here and understands the facets of play not only as a coach but as a decorated player as well.
Coach Lusted played for four years at Georgia Southern University under legendary coach Jack Stallings (1978-79) and is a member of the Georgia Southern Sports Hall of Fame. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1980 and the San Francisco Giants in 1981. He pitched with the Giants organization for five years and was voted to play in the 1984 Texas League (AA) All-Star Game.
As a coach, he previously served five successful years as the pitching coach for Emory University in Atlanta, in addition to four years in the same capacity at Centennial High School in Roswell. At East Georgia Coach Lusted has led the Bobcats to the state playoffs in each of their first two years of eligibility and has produced numerous players who have moved on to play at higher levels. His program is known for solid fundamentals and competing hard every time they take the field.
Coach Lusted has said, "Coaching baseball is a great passion in my life. I constantly enjoy not only coaching but teaching the game of baseball to the young men who come through our program, all the while, encouraging character building and integrity."
