The East Georgia State College Lady Bobcats softball team struggled to finish the season, losing eight of their final 10 games, but they still get a chance in the conference tournament.
The Lady Bobcats finished 8-8 in the conference after starting off 7-1. The team was balanced with great pitching and timely hitting, but then the offense hit a wall that it hasn't been able to break through. After averaging right at five runs per game through the first 32 games, that fell to about two runs a game over the last ten.
The pitching still held strong and was much the same as before, but the lack of run support caused the team to spiral out of control.
Still, the Lady Bobcats defeated Gordon College by a score of 7-0 in the final regular season game, showing how well they can play if they can put it together.
The GCAA tournament is scheduled to start on April 25th, and the Lady Bobcats are hoping the "second season" is as great as the first half of the regular season.
