Country music sensation Chase Rice, who will be performing at East Georgia State College on Friday, April 29, will also be participating in a special event. The former UNC athlete will join the EGSC Bobcat Baseball Team as they take the field against West Georgia Technical College to throw the first pitch of the game, which will begin at 1 p.m.
“First things first, we have to thank all of those who were involved with getting Chase Rice on campus because, without them, we would not have this opportunity,” said EGSC Baseball Coach Matthew Passauer. “It will be a fun day for the program. Having a country music star like Chase Rice throw out the first pitch is a privilege that I’m sure all involved will not take lightly.  I know our guys are excited to meet him and having him around the park will create a special atmosphere that won’t be forgotten any time soon.”
Admission to see the Bobcats take on West Georgia is free. However, a ticket is required to attend the College Days, Country Nights: Chase Rice Back to College Tour at 7 p.m. that evening.
To purchase your tickets, visit http://www.ega.edu/chaserice.  General admission tickets are $22. EGSC-Swainsboro students can pick up one free ticket at the business office on the Swainsboro campus with their student ID, and specially-priced tickets for EGSC-Statesboro and EGSC-Augusta students are available with a valid student ID (limit one reduced-price ticket per student).
Keep checking the EGSC webpage and Facebook page for more information, and don’t forget to tag your social media posts with the official hashtag for this event, #ChaseMeToEGSC!
